The Mail Boxes Etc. "See Your Small Business on the Super Bowl" Search promises to award one lucky small business a grand prize of $10,000 and an appearance on MBE's nationally televised commercial during Super Bowl XXXII.
There is one small catch -- all contest entries must be received by October 31, 1997. The best time to enter is now.
Entry forms can be found at participating MBE Centers or on the MBE Web site at www.mbe.com.
"Somewhere in America is a small-business owner who is 100 words or less away from a shot at the big leagues, courtesy of MBE," said James H. Amos, Jr., president and chief operating officer.
In a tribute to its own motto, "Making business easier worldwide," the contest is MBE's way of recognizing a growing segment of its customer base and rewarding it with big league advertising time.
The Super Bowl, which has grown to become more than a competition on the gridiron, is equally renowned for its million-dollar commercial spots and corporate giant advertising wars. This year, however, MBE will add an American small business to the mix.
In tribute to the entrepreneurial spirit in America, MBE asks small-business owners across the nation with 20 or fewer employees to describe in 100 words or less why their business should be featured on the Super Bowl.
A panel of judges, including the commercial's director, will choose one grand-prize winner for the highly coveted spot and cash prize. MBE will oversee production, direction and editing. In addition, 10 finalists will receive $500 cash awards, and two runner-up finalists will receive $1,000 each.
The Small Office/Home Office market accounts for an estimated 45 million-plus people in the U.S. and is expected to continue to grow. Similarly, MBE continues to grow as the world's leading franchisor of business, communication and postal service centers.
