The new all-in-one program features a digital map database, extensive traveler information, a Global Positioning Satellite (GPS)-enabled PC card, GPS antenna and remote control. It enables a laptop PC to serve as a complete mobile navigation system.
Using GPS technology and detailed digital moving maps, travelers can track their location and movement as well as identify the best route to reach their destinations. Travelers also have easy access to information about cities, major streets and highways, tourist attractions and other locations throughout the U.S.
The product, called Etak SkyMap, is expected to be very popular with professionals who spend a lot of time on the road. The product's point-of-interest travel information database contains the name, address, phone number and description of hundreds of thousands of businesses and attractions. By accessing this database, travelers can quickly identify and precisely locate lodging, food, transportation, cultural events, entertainment, financial institutions, shops, parks, zoos and other attractions on a digital map. Travelers can even highlight personal landmarks or favorite sites for future reference.
The digital map database is available with or without the GPS card and antenna. It comes in a four-CD ROM package. For more information, call 1-800-765-0555 or write Etak, Inc., 1430 O'Brien Drive, Menlo Park, CA 94025. Internet: http://www.etak.com.(NAPSI)
